The MAKE IT IN LA coalition launched its new “MAKE IT Monthly” series to learn from experts and each other. MAKE IT talks help entrepreneurs and manufacturers leverage new business and technology trends to scale their businesses. Monthly events will continue the momentum from its MAKE IT IN LA week earlier this year.

November 16th, The Made in America Project hosted a sold-out evening of drinks and discussion, featuring representatives from the LA Mayor’s Office, manufacturer IndieSource, and designer Cheyann Benedict. Designers, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs shared ideas for branding, connecting with local manufacturers, and sustaining our unique manufacturing base.

“There is definitely a thirst for educational and community-building events around making and manufacturing in LA,” said MAKE IT IN LA founder Krisztina ‘Z’ Holly.

December 1, the LA Cleantech Incubator hosted a standing-room-only crowd for the “Smart Prototyping” workshop, with practical lectures from prototyping experts Mike Hexter, Kay Yang, and Michael Corr. The workshop was followed by networking and a sneak-peek tour of the Advanced Prototyping Center, which recently launched a crowdfunding campaign and will be opening officially on January 1, 2017.

More events are planned for 2017, on the fourth Wednesday of each month. For more information about these events, visit the events page. Sign up for the mailing list to receive invitations and never miss an event.
